FactsI'm Jey Ping, and that's my full name. Jey, if you are in doubt, is pronounced like the letter "J" (you'd be surprised what people have come up with). I was born in Taiwan, ROC in 1983, and came to the United States when I was 3.5. I lived in St. Louis a little, then moved to Poplar Bluff, MO when I was 4. That town is pretty country, it had a population of about 14000, and was basically an economic hub for the surrounding agricultural area. Life there as a child was very nice, and I came back to St. Louis when I was 12, and that's where I am now. I went to school in the Ladue School District in St. Louis, and graduated from Ladue Horton Watkins High School in 2001. You can find out some of the stuff I did there at my High School page. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in December, 2004, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science with majors in Computer Science and Economics, and a minor in Political Science. I really enjoyed my time there - took some really good classes. Looking back on the whole list I can't think of one that wasn't excellent. While I school I managed to keep my head in the real world with some exciting jobs, like IT support, web design, teaching violin, and directing the Ladue Strolling Strings. But all those are everyday fleeting things - what's really important is the bigger picture of the purpose of our existence here on Earth, so I have another page dedicated to that important question. |
